Rides, And Facilities You Will Find Inside Universal Studio Port Aventura
This page gives you an overview to Universal Studio Port Aventura. It is a large theme park on the Costa Brava in Spain. I took a day trip there to find out what rides and attractions are at the park and what they have to offer you. The park is now officially called Port Aventura. A few years ago it was called Universal Studio, and so you will still hear people refer to it using both names. In the nearby town of Reus, there is still a sign pointing to ‘Universal Studio’. So remember to follow signs stating both names if you are driving to the park. The park is divided into themed areas, and each one represents a different country. Within each area are restaurants serving food typical of the country, and the décor is also in-keeping with the theme. For example in ‘China’ you’ll see a ride called Dragon Khan, Chinese restaurants, a theatre and a Chinese Dragon water feature. The areas of the park are: Mexico, Far West, Mediterranean, Polynesia and China. There’s also a water park with slides and swimming pools. This park is called Caribe Aquatic Park. This park has a separate entrance. You can either buy a ticket that includes both parks, or you can just visit one.
There are also shows throughout the park. At seasonal times of the year there are themed shows such as scary shows at Halloween for example. You’ll also stumble across performers throughout the park. I passed a couple of guys performing percussion using two plastic bins! In every section of the Universal Studio Port Aventura park there are shops with souvenirs and clothes. Each shop has clothes and souvenirs from different parts of the world. So, for example, in ‘China’ within the park, you’ll find shops selling Chinese dresses. There are plenty of restaurants throughout the park, and they are also themed depending on the area of the park they are in. This means there’s a great variety of food available. The Universal Studio Port Aventura has 3 hotel complexes. The Hotel Caribe Resort, the Hotel El Paso and the Hotel Port Aventura. Each hotel has a large swimming pool and garden area.
