Review Hotel Villa Marina Salou
The Hotel Villa Marina Salou (or Villa Marina Club as it is also known) is spacious inside, although not the most modern design I have seen. On a plus point, it is quite a low-rise building and isn’t overlooked. The staff were multilingual and very friendly and helpful and there was a nice relaxed atmosphere. This looked to me like a real family hotel.
Hotel FacilitiesThere are two pools. The smallest pool has a nice rock feature and a small waterfall and there are lots of plants and trees around. There’s also lots of sunbeds and shade from the trees should you need it.
There’s a Kids Club, games room, gift shop, internet corner, and the hotel has a buffet restaurant and poolside snack bar. RoomsThere are 189 rooms. Some of the rooms have a view over the pool. Each room has, telephone, en-suite bathroom with hairdryer, TV, air-conditioning and terrace or balcony. Hotel Location And Facilities
It’s a 10 – 15 minutes walk to the beach, as the hotel is near the outskirts of Salou. There’s a small green park opposite (although access was closed during my visit in August). Within a 5 minute walk you’ll come to café bars with outdoor terraces on the way to the beach. This is a less rowdy area than the centre where all the main nightlife is. Here you’ll find traditional Spanish tapas bars. If you want to head into the centre of Salou you can walk there in 15 minutes, and you’ll come to bars, restaurants, discos and shops. To get to the Port Aventura theme park and the Costa Caribe Aquatic Park it is a 10 minute drive. Golfers will find 4 golf courses within a 30 minute drive. How To Get From The Airport To The HotelVia Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 30 minutes depending on the traffic, and cost around 25 euros. Via bus: There’s a bus that leaves from outside the arrivals lounge and travels to Salou via La Pineda. The bus does a round trip back to the airport again. A single ticket is 5.50 euros. The journey should take about 35 - 40 minutes. Via train: The train station in Salou is a 5 minute walk from the Hotel Villa Marina Club. There are no trains from the nearest airport of Reus, but the station is receives trains from Tarragona and Barcelona. In A NutshellThe Hotel Villa Marina Salou is a friendly hotel that’s great for families. There are 2 swimming pools and they are surrounded by lush greenery giving the pool area quite a lot of privacy. It’s in a residential area of Salou 15 minutes walk away from the discos and bars, which means you can enjoy some peace and quiet. Hotel Villa Marina Salou – 3 Star Rack RatesThe price for a double room in August all inclusive is 125 euros per person per night. Prices vary depending on the season. August is the most expensive time to stay. The hotel only takes bookings for a minimum stay of 5 days.
