Review: Gran Hotel Regina Salou Salou
Entering the Gran Hotel Regina Salou will enable you to feel its tropical atmosphere. Once you’ve passed through the vast reception and lobby area, there’s an attractive outdoor pool surrounded by plants and trees. It also has pretty bridges over the water. Inside the walls have several Picasso prints hung on them which add an attractive splash of colour. Next to the pool is a garden with a waterfall feature that cascades down to a pool at the bottom with fish swimming in it. The hotel grounds have green grassed areas which adds to the lush and tropical feel of the place. Hotel Facilities
As well as the large outdoor pool, the lower floor of the hotel is home to the indoor pool. Near here is the fitness centre that has lots of cardiovascular equipment to help you stay in trim. After this, you can enjoy a soak in the Jacuzzi and a mud skin treatment or a massage. There’s also internet, a children’s play area and tennis and football. Everything is very modern throughout the hotel and there’s a nice ambience.
The swimming pool has a beach bar next to called La Masía de Can Vicenç. It catches the last of the afternoon sun and makes a very pleasant place to sip refreshments before changing for dinner. The bar serves pizzas, snacks and BBQ food. In reception there’s a jewellery shop. The hotel has parking outside. The indoor hotel restaurant is very spacious with air-conditioning. Business FacilitiesThe Gran Hotel Regina Salou has an enormous conference room that seats over 100 people. If smaller spaces are required the room can be divided up. Facilities For The DisabledThere are rooms that have been specially adapted for disabled use. RoomsThe rooms have en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning, TV, direct line phone, music, minibar and a safe. They are attractive, modern, light and airy and they all have glass fronted balconies. There’s the option to rent a fridge to keep your drinks cool. The views from the rooms are either across the swimming pool or they are across the countryside (which is a bit dry!) to the distance mountains. Hotel Location And FacilitiesThe Gran Hotel Regina Salou is about 5 minutes drive from Port Aventura theme park, and in the other direction it is a 5 – 10 minute drive to the beach depending on the traffic. I did have to spend some time finding the main entrance as the exterior of this hotel is protected by a high wall, and the grounds are quite extensive. I was unlucky in that I approached from the back and had to spend 10 minutes walking around the outside until I came across the way in! There is parking right outside the hotel so try to drive straight to the main entrance if you arrive by car and save yourself the walk. How To Get From The Airport To The HotelVia Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 30 minutes and cost around 25 euros. Via bus: There’s a bus that leaves from outside the arrivals lounge and travels to Salou via La Pineda. The bus does a round trip back to the airport again. A single ticket is 5.50 euros.
