Review: Catalonia Garden Salou
When you enter the Catalonia Garden Salou you’ll find that it is a huge apartment complex that is made up of buildings that are spread across both sides of the road. When I visited there was a definite party atmosphere with really loud poolside music. There were predominantly English and Dutch tourists. I spent one afternoon looking around the Catalonia Gardens complex. There are British style restaurants and English flags hanging from the walls and ceiling. One of the bar-restaurants is called ‘Troffers Barbecue’. There’s a reception and the staff there speak English. They have leaflets about local attractions and maps of the town.
Each block on each side of the road has a pool and each pool is surrounded by a large grassed area that has some shade from pine trees. RoomsThere are over 92 apartments and they either sleep 3 – 5 people, 4 – 6 people, or there are 1 bedroom apartments with a sofa bed for 2-4 people. The rooms either have views across the pool or to the street, and each room has a balcony with space to site outside. Across the road is a cashpoint. To reach the nearest bars and restaurants head for the same area as where you’ll find the nightlife. The bars are side by side with mini supermarkets. How To Travel From The Airport To The ApartmentsVia Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 30 minutes and cost 25 euros (including airport supplement), depending on traffic conditions Via bus: There’s a bus that leaves from outside the arrivals lounge and travels to Salou via La Pineda. The bus does a round trip back to the airport again. A single ticket is 5.50 euros. The journey to Salou should take about 35 - 40 minutes. In A NutshellThe Catalonia Garden Salou is a large complex with a party atmosphere. If you’re looking for a complex that is near to the heart of the partying in Salou then this is it. Catalonia Gardens offers basic accommodation with its own bar-restaurant, pool and shaded gardens.
