The Entry Into The California Palace Hotel

This is a very nice modern building with lots of glass windows. There’s an interesting looking pillar when you walk in that looks a bit like a tree and is tiled in a mosaic ‘Gaudi’ style.

The hotel is walking distance to the beach and has its own spa and entertainment, making it good for families and people who are looking to relax.

Hotel Facilities

The pool area has a nice ambiance and is overlooked by rooms from the hotel. The hotel also has a lounge-café, dining room with buffet service, internet corner, video games and play zone for children. There’s an outdoor pool with plenty of sunbathing space around, and also an indoor pool and heated Jacuzzi.

The overall feel is modern and spacious. The restaurant and bar also have plenty of space. The hotel will prepare a picnic for you if you request it the day before, which saves you time with shopping yourself.

The California Palace Hotel Salou has rooms that have been specially adapted for disabled use and wheelchair entry.

The rooms are neat and modern with Mediterranean fabrics and patio doors that lead onto the balcony. Here you also have a table and chairs. Each room has a telephone, air-conditioning, heating, satellite TV, safe, minibar and en-suite bathroom with hairdryer.

Hotel Location And Facilities

There’s a beach shop opposite and a couple of cafes with terraces. The road is quite busy but you can’t hear the noise from inside the hotel.

To get to the Port Aventura theme park it is a 10 minute drive. This also goes for the neighbouring water park called Caribe Aquatic park.

There are 4 golf within 30 minutes drive.

The long and sandy Llevant beach is literally 10 minutes walk down the road. You can also reach the port in this time where you’ll find restaurants specialising in fish and seafood dishes.

The main commercial centre of Salou is a 15 – 20 minute walk along the seafront keeping the beach on your right. The area that the California Palace hotel is in is more Spanish than the commercial centre and has lots of tapas bars.

How To Travel From The Airport To The Hotel

Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 30 minutes and cost around 25 euros.

Via bus: There’s a bus that leaves from outside the arrivals lounge and travels to Salou via La Pineda. The bus does a round trip back to the airport again. A single ticket is 5.50 euros. The journey should take about 35 - 40 minutes.

Via train: The train station in Salou is a 10 minute walk from California Palace Hotel. There are no trains from the nearest airport of Reus, but the station is served by trains from Tarragona and Barcelona.
