Review: California Garden Hotel Salou
This is a large hotel that is made up of 2 separate buildings either side of the pool. It has a huge array of facilities for all the family including all-day entertainment and a total of 4 swimming pools. It’s actually so big that I went into it twice from different entrances and didn’t realise I was in the same hotel! Hotel Facilities
This is a big hotel with its own parking. In reception you can book a trip on a bus to Barcelona. Reception also has a post box. There’s a large buffet restaurant area where international cuisine is served, a café, pool tables, self-service restaurant, and an attractive garden area outside. There are 2 large swimming pools that have special areas within them for children. These smaller pools are shallower. There’s also a bar, lounge, TV room, games room, mini-golf, children’s playground, a bar by the pool and lots of sun loungers. The hotel has a fitness centre with a spa, sauna and massage services. Facilities For Business TravellersThe hotel has a conference room. RoomsThe rooms have small balconies and some of them overlook the pool. There are 469 rooms in total and they are comfortable and practically furnished. Each one has patio doors that lead onto the balcony. The rooms all have a telephone, air-conditioning, satellite TV, safe and en-suite bathroom. Hotel Location And FacilitiesFrom the hotel it is 15 – 20 minutes walk to the Llevant beach. The hotel is on the road that leads out to Tarragona. Within 2 minutes walk is the Placa Europa where you’ll find one of the Tourist Information offices. Opposite there’s a small market, restaurants and a beach shop that sells lilos and buckets and spades. The road the hotel is on is a very busy dual-carriageway outside but the hotel is set back and so you can’t hear the noise from inside. There’s also a cocktail bar opposite and a nightclub, and a pub that advertises that it does children’s entertainment. There’s a supermarket opposite too. The nearest bank is 3 minutes walk away. To get to the Port Aventura theme park it is a 10 minute drive and you’ll find 4 golf courses within 30 minutes drive. The main commercial centre of Salou is a 10 minute walk. Here you’ll come to the main area of bars and nightclubs. How To Get From The Airport To The HotelVia Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 30 minutes and cost around 25 euros. Via bus: There’s a bus that leaves from outside the arrivals lounge and travels to Salou via La Pineda. The bus does a round trip back to the airport again. A single ticket is 5.50 euros. The journey should take about 35 - 40 minutes. Via train: The train station in Salou is a 10 taxi ride from California Garden Hotel. There are no trains from the nearest airport of Reus, but the station is served by trains from Tarragona and Barcelona. Reservations
